Michigan, Wisconsin, or Washington

Thanks for the thumbs up world changer. However, too be honest and in my opinion, Michigan is substantially more prestigious in its offerings of professional schools. Wisconsin has nothing that touches U-M in law, business and medicine. These are typically the three programs that all TOP research universities excell in. :-)

Well, we are not talking graduate level professional schools right now. Some Top schools don’t even have professional schools–ever heard of Princeton Law or Business or Med School? Yale business school is not particularly highly regarded. What UW chooses to excel in and always has are the hard and social sciences and other ACADEMIC areas. The prof schools are all solid but typically more reserved for instate kids which hurts the national image. Other academics are not very impressed by having top professional schools.

Ok Barrons. I agree with you. Princeton, Yale, and Michigan are better than Wisconsin. lol. I would rate Wisky slightly better than Michigan in some of the “hard” sciences, but would rate Michigan better than Wisky in most of the social sciences. I still maintain Michigan is a step up from Wisconsin. This is not meant as a “diss” to Wisky. I’m just stating that if you take away Michigan’s professional schools, they probably wouldn’t rate any higher than Wisconsin does now. Btw, you can get a UG degree at Michigan in business. :-)

Sociology UW is #1. That’s the king of social sciences. I know UM has an ug business major. It’s very good too. Also very small which means many UM ugs can’t get into it and get stuck in something else.

I said MOST of the social sciences. Sociology is the king of soc. sci? Never heard that one before. LOL. We can discuss this as long as you’d like but it won’t change either of our opinions. The plain fact is that as a whole Michigan is perceived as a more prestigious school than Wisconsin. Other than yourself, i doubt many others would agree with your opinion.
