Michigan

Can anyone who knows alot about Michigan admissions/current Michigan student private message me! and if possible leave your AIM sn, thakns very much

U Mich?

my friend goes there, what do u need to know? stats? which major?

well, heres wahts been bothering me. I heard U Mich does NOT weigh grades; i have a 3.4 10-11 (poor i know). However, soph year i took math analysis, eng honors, hist honors, and chem honors (honors all can get an extra point) and juinor year i took ap eng ap physics ap calc and hist honors. Im concerned that I will get immediately rejected because my GPA is a 3.4 but i did take a very rigorous schedule and my weighted GPA would be pretty good. anyway, i have a 2140 one sitting (730 cr, 720 wr, 690 math), Microsoft internship (400 hours) and sent mich a copy of a written rec on microsoft paper, and I just turned in my app last week so i should make it in time for rolling admissions. I went undeclared BUT my biggest flaw is im a CA resident. : (. Anyway chances?

Don’t get bothered by it. Your course load looks A LOT better than someone who’s got a 3.9 with all regular and 3 Honors. 3.4 is not that great, but it shows that you have challenged urself to the max. and if ur high school is prestigious, they’ll take that into consideration too. You SAT score is pretty good for U Mich.

My friend applied from Pennsylvania, and here’s her stat: 1350 / 1600 (old sat), GPA 3.8 unweighted. (3 ap’s total, 2 honors)

Have u done much EC’s? Work?

You should have taken the ACT’s.. Midwest is kinda big on the ACT’s, but don’t worry, ur SAT score is already good enough.

I would say U mich is a slight reach for you.. I think you have a chance, granted that you wrote some good essays and have some good college recommendation letters.

just think about it,

if they don't weigh ur 10th - 11th gpa, they won't weight other ppl's either.. it won't be a pretty picture over all. and U MICH is a great school. they will look into how much u've challenged urself when u selected ur classes

well, my teacher/counselor recs will be really good because both of them ive been friends with since 9th grade. My essays were really good becuase the teacher who wrote my rec is a AP ENG teacher so i wrote my essays w/ him. My biggest EXC is microsoft internship 400 hours (i sent the rec they gave me to U mich already) but ive tutored for free 4 years at a local kumon which my counselor wrote in my rec.

my school is also ranked 90th in CA
