Should I be scared to go to a school as big as Michigan??

Nope, not at all. It's not as bad as you think, I was expecting to have like 500 people in every single one of my classes and not know anyone at all, but the only classes where there's a really huge amount of people is lectures, and then you've got the smaller discussion section...

I'm a first year student and I've found that it's not as "intimidating" as people say it is. I think your background plays a big factor in it to; like if you went to public/private school, what city your from, etc.

I came from a private school with a very small graduating class in a big city. Coming to UMich has been a big transition, but I definitely like a bigger school.

It's not intimidating at all, you just have to show a lot of initiative. No one's going to hold your hand, you have do things yourself if you want to succeed here.

thanks for everyone's input! any other advice you could give this out of state senior for adjusting to university of michigan? I can't decide between michigan or dickinson (a 2300 person college). I'm leaning towards michigan...
-thanks again

The weather here sucks beyond belief.
