micro before macro?

I am going to be a freshman this coming fall and i know i will be taking both micro and macro economics this year. i don't want to take them simultaneously and read that it doesn't matter which one precedes the other. i would just like some input on which one to take first semester. what benefits are there to taking a certain one before the other? i am currently signed up for micro but was seriously considering switching to macro. thanks, any info would be appreciated.

In my college we're required to learn micro before macro. it's no big deal really.

Usually it's micro before macro. In my college, micro is Econ 101 and macro is Econ 102. Micro is a prerequisite for us before we take macro.
