Im taking the AP and I should have credit for both Macro and Micro economics. But I'm wondering (as a potential Business major) if I should retake one or both of the economics classes?

What would be the advantages/disadvantages to this? Also, how hard is MicroEconommics at UT?

There was a thread on MicroEcon professors at UT but, that was back in 2009 or 2010 (long time ago). Anyways, if you can get credit for Micro and Macro definitely take advantage of it. As far as Microecon goes, their is only one professor I would recommend and that’s Dr. Trejo (the rest of them can’t teach worth jack and you will probably have around 400+ people in your class).

I’m a business major (not at UT) and I can tell you that asides from the basics you will probably not need to know any intricate aspects of economics in your upper-division business courses.

Not true at all. However, I would not retake econ at UT because the profs are basically pseudo-keynesians that have no real world experience. If you want to learn real world economics, listen to Dalio or Bass, or read Mises/Hayek/Keynes/Friedman.

Can you guys explain why or why not we need to know enough economics for Business?

Actually, Im considering a minor or possibly a major in Economics since it’s interesting to me, but it’s the basics so I’m not sure how complex it can become.

Anyways BUMP…i need more opinions

What major do you want? finance, marketing, accounting, etc?
