Microfridges

Does anyone ever just buy the microfridge instead of renting it every year from the university?

I was thinking of doing this since it might save some money later on, and I could just rent it out to my roommates for a cheaper price than the university ones. And if all the UCs use a similar one, I could probably sell it on to another student when I don't need it anymore. Anyway, that's just what I've been thinking about...thoughts anyone?

no

I bought a fridge. it was cheaper, much cheaper. And a microwave is what my roommate is buying this year. It's like 30-60 bucks for a wave, and maybe 40-100 for a fridge I believe, maybe up to 200 if you want fancy shmancy

I thought you could only rent the fridges the UCLA third party has, anything else is forbidden?

Nah, you can buy the fridges UCLA's third party has, which is a better deal than renting them.

But, the best deal is buying your own larger refrigerator and a separate microwave. Just hide one of them under a cloth when it comes time for room inspections.
