Can we bring both microwaves and mini fridges from home? What about water boilers? I know UCLA has the micro-fridge combination, but that seems really expensive and I've heard they're not worth it. What if I just bring one or both from home?

They said you can’t bring anything that poses a fire hazard. There is an exception, which are micro-fridges. basically its a microwave attached to a fridge and i have no idea why they wont allow microwaves alone.

Technically bringing your own microwave/water heater isn’t allowed, but it’s not a big deal. I had both, and nothing happened even when the RAs saw it.

Some RAs are stricter than others so don’t count on it.

The fridge is no problem. You can leave it out in the open. I just wanted to make that clear.

You can put the microwave anywhere you want. Just make sure to cover it with a towel or blanket during inspection week because they are not allowed to go through your things.

I had my microwave on top of my fridge and covered it with a towel.

We brought in a microwave and fridge. As said before, if you cover them, no matter how obvious, they aren’t allowed to touch your stuff during inspection. I think they can ask you to remove it though, so get out of the room when they come by.

Also, don’t be the person who burns stuff in the microwave and sets off the fire alarm during finals week. The entire building will hate you.
