Microwaves and Refrigerators in the Dorm

I talked with my roommate the other day and we're moving in to the University dorms. Anyways he's a sophomore and he has his microwave and mini-fridge that he brought from last year. Also, my brother graduated from college last year so I get his old fridge and microwave.

I know that the University has a 1 microwave and fridge policy per room, but my roommate said that last year his roommate and him both their brought both of their fridge and microwave to the dorm.

According to him, he just hid his microwave and fridge when they went on break during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring.

Has anybody esle done this because as much as I would want to have my own fridge I don't want to get a $100 fine for doing this?

For the most part, those threats about not bringing certain items into your room are fairly loose. Most RA’s are pretty relaxed about this stuff and if anything they will just put the fridge in storage and not fine you, especially if youre a freshman who doesnt know any better.

Worse comes to worse you could simply say that there was a mistake in the communication with your roommate and that you both ended up bringing a fridge. No one will question or try to investigate that, so dont worry.
