Is anyone else here in the same sitaution as mine?!?!?!? I'm still on the Wait List. I haven't been rejected, but I haven't been accepted. How long is it gonna take until the final round of decisions are made?!?!? Yes, I know that 14 students were taken off the list, and that there are from around 6 to 12 students who haven't been accepted, but haven't been rejected still. Is anyone here one of those students????

where did you get these numbers?

I read the info that was posted in the thread "check your e-mail (for those on the wait list)". are you in the same situation as i am?

no, sorry...good luck to you though!

thanks, the wait is being excruciatingly frustrating!!!

I didn't get anything saying a lot of words which amounted to "Sorry, but no" yet...so let's hope that no news is good news! and that accepted WL kids decide not to go there!

I don't think they notify you as to a "decision." I think you're only going to hear from them if they let you in.

really? Columbia told me that there was no more room in the class so I didn't get in off the waitlist...

Did anyone get anything saying they weren't in off the waitlist?

That's the same question i've got bluirinka, " Did anyone get anything saying they weren't in off the waitlist? ", but I DO think they have to notify us, contrary to what xanatos was saying, it would be really rude if they never said anything, and according to me yup they have to come tell you "sorry but the wait list has been closed bla bla"

can't anybody call the admissions office and ask what's going on? i'm not in the u.s. right now so calling would be very expensive

From today's WSJ...

yea, f*** dartmouth. I think their waitlist is closed. W/e.

that's not a very wise thing to say on the dartmouth forum.

Colleges offer few slots to wait-listed students
Thursday, June 16, 2005

By Anne Marie Chaker, The Wall Street Journal

Students still hoping to get off the admissions wait list at some of the country's top colleges may want to start settling on their safe school.

A number of the nation's most-selective universities, including Princeton, Yale and Johns Hopkins, aren't admitting any students at all off their wait lists this spring. And many others are taking only a handful.

Many admissions officers say they regret having to disappoint so many applicants. One reason top schools said they expanded their wait lists this year was that the pool of applicants was so highly qualified. The University of Pennsylvania offered about 1,200 students a spot on its list compared with 1,100 last year. Johns Hopkins had increased its offers by 500 students, to 2,000. Dartmouth also offered 100 more students a spot on its list than the year before. "These are all students you'd love to be able to accommodate," says Karl Furstenberg, admissions dean at Dartmouth, which admitted only 22 wait-listed students, compared with 31 last year.

Ok, so they chose 22. But what's going on? Why haven't we been notified that the wait list is closed?!?! I mean, Dartmouth has always been very "communicative" with its prospective students. They always send e-mails, they always inform you of the news as soon as it happens. My question then is, WHY HAVEN'T WE BEEN TOLD: "GOODBYE, THE WAIT LIST HAS BEEN CLOSED?" Is anyone else in this same situation!??!?!?!??!?!?!
