Mid Sized school in Soth/South-East

I am looking for some good Mid-Sized schools(in between 3500-12,000) in the South/South East Region. I know its the toughest area/size to find good schools for, but if you have any suggestions/schools, all our welcome. thanks

College of Charleston - about 9600 students - is a great school for a B student… Also think highly of Elon and Wake Forest. You might want to specify GPA and test scores to get more targeted responses. For top students - Duke, Vanderbilt, and Emory.

Clemson University (where I go to school haha)

In addition to the ones rockville mentioned, Tulane would also fit the description.

UNC-Asheville is my personal favorite

Emory and Duke are worth looking into.

Adding to the list:

Mary Washington
Miami
Ole Miss
UNC Wilmington
William & Mary

Richmond and Guilford may be a little small but still worth checking out.

Thanks everyone, just fyi I have got like a 4.4 GPA and 31 ACT, if that changes anything.

Anybody know anything about Elon? that was on my list and i don’t know too much about it.

I know a girl at Elon and she is fairly happy at the school. Why not consider Tulane, University of Miami, Rice, Austin College, University of Alabama?

Duke, Rice, Emory, Vanderbilt, William and Mary… Rice will be about 3400

I am not sure why you said it is the toughest area to find good schools. The south has an abundance of highly rated and excellent schools, including many in your size range. With the couple of stats you give, and assuming you took a fairly challenging schedule of AP classes, you have a decent shot at all the schools mentioned. Duke is a reach, but possible. Rice, Emory, Vandy not quite as much of reaches but not sure things either. Wake Forest, Tulane and Miami should be good fits, although Miami is not part of the traditional south, if you meant that rather than strict geography. If instead you were going for nicer weather than the north/midwest, then of course Miami is a good match. If that is the case why not look at West Coast also? But going with your parameters, the suggetions above are good. For Ole Miss you should look into the Honors College, Barksdale. Very highly thought of.

Personally, I think the South/Southeast/Southwest is the best area to go to school in. You have great weather, more spacious campuses (usually), friendlier people (in my opinion) than the East Coast, school spirit, and a lot of attractive girls/guys.
