There is something awfully Freudian about these GPA postings.

Lol. After being berated numerous times for various GPA postings, I can proudly say that I didn't post this time.

is a C in calculus going to kill me if i am applying as a language major and had a 3.8 the first semester?

do schools actually email the professors and check to see if that is the real grade (because on some forms they want contact information) or do you think its just for reference? Like what if they sign your grade on the sheet before a huge test, and then you do bad on the test and it dramatically changes your grade? (I guess I am saying im getting a very low B in calculus and if my professor signs this sheet before my test ill still have a B (if I have him sign it afterwards it may change my grade dramatically by a whole letter) will they check up afterwards or just trust it and wait for final transcripts (because they have the right to deny you after acceptance if you arent doing as well as when they accepted you??)

wow this is wordy sorry

hmm i doubt that they'll email your professor..

If you get deferred to RD, mid-semester may be needed.

I did not know that UChicago deferred EA applicants.

in response to the question posed at me, I made up one mid semester grade report using Word, with class, grade-to-date, # credits, signature, and date of signature, and I photocopied this one for 6 places. For UPenn, it had a required form, so basically, i had each professor fill out 2 forms, one for penn and the one i made up.

nspeds: Gerald Doyle said that not only is deferral from EA->RD transfer possible, but a wait listing from RD is also possible.

! :(

Ouch. That hits the spot.

Would I rather have an ED rejection or deal with waiting until Wait List resolves? :-/

With 18 credits I have either a 4.0 or 3.95 so far; I am not entirely sure how I'm doing in one of my history classes. I'm at CC so the near-perfect GPA is expected, even though community colleges are so underrated it's sick.

I would say the latter is preferable; at least in that case, you can rest assured that you were qualified and that the committee took seriously your application.

bball- hey, i'm sorry to bother you, but your PM box is full. Did you make each professor send his/her mid-year individally or did you collect the forms from every professor and send the reports together? I'm not completely sure what to do, what's acceptable, etc. Thank you!

um...i had each professor individually sign my mid-term report for both the Penn form and the form that I created for other schools. Wat a hassle!

bball-- yeah, i'll say! but did you then collect the forms from your professors and send those forms together to each school--or did you give each professor an envelope so they could send the forms individually?

Yeah I know what you mean. It took me like a week to finally get it done.

"bball, you already posted your mid-semester grades like 50 million times. we already know you did well -_-"

"i like to believe I have a better personality"

hahahaha XD

I happy with my grades somewhat.I snoozed through the first half but will definetely pick it up the second half. I have 3 A's 2 B+'s and 1 B. I expect to have 5 A's and 1 B+ in the end.

wow, ur taking 6 classes, g-d have mercy

uhhh what schools require midterm grades???
