Do any universities NOT require them?

Of course. Most don't, I think. UCs, for example, don't.

It just seems like every single private university I'm applying to does. Argh. xD I'm just praying I get in ED so I don't have to worry about it...

You and me both aquamarinee, I'll be so happy if I get into my top ED, so so so happy :D

Where do you want to go, Eloquence? =D

UCs dont do mid terms? Hard to believe.

I don't remember having to fill in midterms for any of my UC's.

UCs decide admission based on grades through junior year. They do not require or want mid-year grades except that sometimes from some students, after application materials are already in, they may send out a specific request for them. They do use senior year grades after you submit final transcript in summer to determine whether they should withdraw their decision to admit.

Most public universities make admission decisions based on grades through junior year and do not require mid-year reports. Private colleges that have rolling admissions (decide as applications are received) usually do not require mid-year reports either. Private colleges (and some publics) that make their regular admissions decisions during Feb to April usually do require them.
