Mid-Year grades deadline

Is the Feb 15 mid-year deadline a postmark deadline, or does UVa need to have it received by then?

Thanks.

Yeah. I was wondering the same thing because I know my school isn't sending them until next week.

Folks, this has been asked and answered a few times in the last few days. Just scroll down and you'll see the threads.

I understand that February 15th is the postmark deadline, but what happens if my school does not send it on time? I even told the guidance office today, "But the UVA deadline is February 15th.." and the response was, "At least everyone else is in the same boat!"
Is this ok if it is sent past the deadline? I really want my midyear grades to be considered!

IIRC Feb 15 is THE deadline and is not flexible. Anything after that cannot be guaranteed to be considered.

Dean J,
Could you confirm this? I hope this isn't the case- I don't want my grades to be looked over because my county isn't sending them yet! There's nothing I can do about that.

No one is going to get penalized because of the date their school sends something. We understand that every college is asking for these around the same time and your guidance offices are swamped.

Dean J- Thanks so much! That is very reassuring.

I think they will see a lot of late mid year transcripts from our area--Kentucky has been a weather disaster for months. First, we lost a full week of school in September because of a hurricane (yes, who would have thought a hurricane could come to Louisiville!), which put our already rather late semester end date a week later.

Then, a tremendous ice storm closed schools for another full week in late January--So, counselors here are really scrambling to try to catch up with transcripts for applications, much less getting out mid year reports..

Amazing, we are now expecting a giant windstorm today! The ground is still soggy from the ice melt and broken limbs are still hanging from trees- the 60 mph winds may take our power grid down yet again (which would close the schools down yet again).

I can't imagine colleges are going to penalize students for this mess.
