Mid-Year Report and Early Decision

I am applying Early Decision to UR, and my question is regarding the mid year report and 'snapshots' of grades. I have just completed the 1st Quarter of my Senior Year, and I'll be submitting my ED application within two weeks (Nov. 1st deadline). Does the Mid-year report need to be actually mid-year (end of 1st semester?), or should it be sent in earlier? Is there a deadline this is needed by? Is it required in the admissions process or only afterwards? My predicament is that there are two classes which I am not confident in submitting my grades of and would appreciate as much time as possible to improve to a decent point before I show this year's progress.

My second question is, will I need to show my grades at the end of my senior year? Will Admissions request them, or do I not need to worry about that? Do not get me wrong, I am not the slacking type...

My son applied PR last year and this is what his MyRoc says:

"Mid-Year Report Form

High schools typically send this to you in January or February. Submit this form as soon as your grades become available (no later than March 1).

The mid-year report is not required for review of your application, but it is required for completion.

If you are applying Early Decision, an admissions decision can typically be made without this form; however, even if a decision is made or is en route, we will need this form to assure us you are staying on track.

If you have any questions about your status, please call us toll-free at (888) 822-2256."

I assume this still applies. In our case, the mid-year and final senior grade reports went directly from the GC to the school - we never saw it, but we coordinated closely with the GC to be sure they were sent in a timely manner.

Good luck!
