Hello! I’m a senior applying to a bevy of colleges, almost all of which include a Mid-Year Report as a requirement. Unfortunately… my guidance counselors are adamant in “no, we don’t need to send that! please leave kid” (and “just convince them” is not an available option here, trust me).
They did approve a Parchment sending of mid-year transcripts, however. I notified my colleges of this, and got back “no worries! delayed mid-year reports are not your fault at all” from one college, which was… considerably not what I meant to ask. Should I send another email, and risk being annoying? Should I stay quiet? Is my mid-year transcript good enough? Please advise!
With mid-year transcripts being sent, you may be okay. Can you check any portals and see if any of the schools that mid-year transcripts were sent to have indicated the mid-year report requirement is complete? If they mark it complete, you should be fine. If they are missing something from the college counselors, the school may contact them directly. I don’t believe any school will hold it against you as it’s not within your control.
If you’re at a public high school you have a principal and a school board. Their jobs are to make sure the rest of the staff does theirs. If something is missing from your college apps and your GC refuses to supply it, I’d suggest that your parents start making phone calls. I’d start with the GC and if that didn’t get action, I’d contact the principal and school board.
