So I know I’m exaggerating this, but I have reason to believe my counselor is not the most knowledgable person regarding applications. They did finally send my mid-year report, which was a huge relief. However, I read a couple of stories regarding kids and their counselors messing up their mid-year reports. I can’t see my reports, at least I don’t know of a way how, and I just can’t help but think that they may have messed them up in some way. I know I sound paranoid, but is there any way to confirm the validity of the reports sent without asking my counselor? They do not like me because I pestered them about sending my reports for the past month, and our relationship is pretty rocky. I doubt they’d let me see any reports.
If there is any significant problem the colleges will let you know.
You still need your HS counselor to send your final transcript out so you really don’t want to needlessly bug him/her.
Time to let it go.
@happy1 Yeah, I know, which is why I don’t want to ask them about this. I did send them a thank you letter with a little gift card inside, so hopefully, they won’t hate me as much. Still, I can’t stop thinking that they may have reported my grades incorrectly on my report.
Since a mid-year transcript is attached, I don’t see that as being likely. @happy1 is right - let it go.
I can’t imagine any guidance counselor risking his/her job and future by sending an incorrect/forged transcript in an attempt to hurt a student at the HS. It would make no sense. Take a breath and move forward.
I feel for you. Our guidance counselor who has been great so far has not sent the most recent report card/mid year report. The grades came out over a week ago. It’s very disturbing actually since D has an ED2 school that notifies in less than 2 weeks. Emails and a call have not been acknowledged. The recent grades were the best so far, so it’s upsetting.
