My daughter applied to several schools (using the Common Application) that require the submission of a mid year report (Ivy schools). Her high school has never sent anyone to an Ivy school and quite frankly, I’m not sure if anyone from her school has applied to any of the Ivy’s in the last five years (since the guidance counselor has been hired). We know nothing about the process either but it looks like- at least to us, that her guidance counselor would upload her mid year report onto the Common Application website and then the schools would access it? Is this how it works? Or, does she have to send it to each school using her portal? She just finished her midterms and her midterm report is now complete. Thanks!!
Yes, the GC sends, not the student. This is not unique to Ivy League colleges, so the GC should know the drill.
So two of my daughter’s schools are showing that her mid-year report is missing (on the portal and on common app) awhile the other schools show that it was downloaded on 2/14/17. The GC sent it to all the schools on the same day. My daughter confirmed with the GC that it was sent to all of the schools, and it was. The school uses Naviance docs and the GC is showing a delivery date of 2/13 to all of the schools. Anyone familiar with this issue?
Yes, GC uploads onto common app and colleges download it. Exactly like they did with transcripts etc
Have your daughter email the Admissions Departments directly and provide a PDF copy directly as an attachment, if possible, indicating that it was also sent through Naviance on 2/13. My daughter has had to resend hers several times.
Have the GC call the schools tomorrow. Explain what’s happening. They may have a remedy that your GC is unaware of.
Daughter just called the IVY at issue- the school requires that midyear reports be mailed and they do not upload them from the common application. so while the GC submitted it through the common application, it was never received by the school. lovely…
