Mid Year Report Worries

I apologize for posting twice in a row, but I have a question regarding the mid-term report. I have a 3.92 at Cornell (freshman), but this semester I expect to get a B(+/-) at the time I need to send in the mid-term report. I should have A-/As for all my other four courses. Considering it is an unofficial grade in the middle of the semester, will a B completely mess up my chances, or in the grand scheme of the application will one B be alright? I fear colleges might view my grades as inconsistent or on a downward trend because of this. Thanks!

Your official [3.92] is great and the midterm will be followed by a final report that should have the A’s you say you’re getting.

Where are you applying btw?

My inclination is that my B won’t be a significant detriment to my application. I’m just looking for opinions on how important the mid-term report actually is (I would feel more comfortable if my mid-term report were stronger than my first semester, but that will not be the case). I am applying to Columbia, Penn, Swarthmore and Williams (top choices: Penn/Swat), which is why I might sound overly concerned with a B on a mid-term report. I am also aware I have no safeties–I could very well not get accepted anywhere–I just want to give it a shot. Thanks guys

Most schools don’t seem to require a midterm report, so you may want to avoid submitting it if it will hurt you.
