I go to a school with 3000+ students and not nearly enough counselors to adequately help students. So all the paper work would just be a giant hassle.

So how would my counselor send the Mid-Year report online instead of through the mail?

My daughter is in the same boat. The counselor basically told my daughter not to be asking her about the mid year report. She told her that she knew when things were due and she would get it done. Right now the status on the common app for the mid year report says “started”. Is it supposed to change to “submitted”. Can anyone answer this? When we check the status of her applications at the individual schools they all say that they have all the required documents at this time but the mid year report is not listed.

The counselor uploads it into the common app just the same as he/she uploaded your original school report. The midyear report will change to “submitted” once your guidance counselor is finished uploading it. Then the colleges you’ve applied to will automatically download it, and it will change to “downloaded.” Hope that helps. I really think the GCs should be a little speedier about this. A lot of schools have deadlines when they are supposed to receive the midyear report; it’s important.
