Mid-Year Report

Hey all, I'm an RD applicant and was wondering if Yale requires a mid-year report. My Eli account states "REQUIRED from others": Mid-Year Report. This is a problem for me because my school has year-long classes and report cards are not given till the end of the year--is this going to hurt me? Will they even consider my application if I don't send it?

Any insight is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

You are required to send it, regardless of your school’s report policy. It would be best for your school to send the same information, but just include a general update.

As far as I know, a mid-year report is REQUIRED by all colleges, including Yale. See: [Application Instructions & Components | Yale College Admissions](Application Instructions & Components | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions)

Applicants for freshman admission must submit the following:

Common Application and Yale Supplement
$75 Application Fee or Request for Fee Waiver
Two Teacher Recommendations
School Report (includes Transcript and Counselor Recommendation)
Standardized test results, including either
the SAT and Two SAT Subject Tests or
the ACT Plus Writing Test
Mid-Year Report (due when first semester or trimester senior grades become available at your school)

Thanks guys! I’ll talk to my GC and see what to do.

If you’re a domestic student, I don’t doubt that your GC has probably had to do this before for other students-- it’s pretty common practice across all schools. Good luck, and no sense reinventing the wheel when you don’t ned to-- I’m sure there’s a solution already in place at your school.
