I'm applying to 2 SUNY's; Albany and Oswego. There aren't many schools that offer meteorology, and I just didn't like Penn State for the amount it cost (for me it would cost more than cornell!), so I figured if I didn't get into CALS I would go to a SUNY for at least a year or two and then try transferring out. They're really great schools for my program though, in fact Oswego prob. has better internships than Cornell because of Al Roker being an alum. and NBC 4 in NYC.

The Mid-year report asks for an updated transcript to be attached.

I was also deferred, so I'm kinda in the same position. Is there a deadline to have the mid year report in by?

Oh ok, thanks for the transcript info. I'm not sure about the deadline thing, I'm going to ask when I call.

I don't think there is a deadline per se other than as soon as grades from the first semester are available. Registrars at high schools know that they have to get these grades out so I'm sure they are on top of it. And colleges know that it takes a little time, especially if first semester ends after Christmas break, for the high schools to get them out. My guess is that they need to see them by the end of January.

btw you have to take teh swim test regardless if you enter cornell as a freshman or a gt. its required to graduate

im going to dog paddle for the swim test. I hope that's still passing

you can totally do that, just as long as your dont hold on to the sides. the first lap in on your stomach, the second on your back, and the third is your choice. more power to you if you doggie paddle the first and third lap :)

This might help clear up some confusion about transfer students and the swim test requirement... this is from Hotel's website, but it pertains to the entire university.
Physical Education
Note: Transfer students who have completed two or more terms of full-time study elsewhere, regardless of whether those terms included physical education courses, are not required to take physical education or the swim test at Cornell. Transfer students who completed only one term elsewhere will be required to take one term of physical education, including the swim test, at Cornell.

so if you go somewhere else for a year, then you're fine right?

oh whoops. i thought it was for everyone :|

lucky transfers! lol
