<p>At top twenty colleges, if the first three year of high school grades are not super super great, but the applicant attends a school where the classes are given on a block schedule and he takes enough weighted classes first semester to skyrocket his gpa...because these grades are on the midyear report do the colleges consider the rise in gpa..i know this is poorly worded but bear with me..</p>
<p>Your GPA for the semester will be very high, but I doubt your overall UW/W GPA will rise as much. It’ll be a good thing to show an upward trend, but I doubt one semester can “skyrocket” your GPA unless you take 12 classes or something.</p>
