Are they required for JHU?

And if so...how much will it affect admissions? What if there's a couple of B's and even one C for first semester...?

Even more info

wait, i have a question about the midyear reports. do they look at complete, average 1st semester grade, or each marking period/midterm separately?

Does your school's transcript even include grades for each marking period? My HS used to only include a final semester average.

uhh im not sure. for frosh/soph/jr year they just sent final grade, but since sr years not done yet maybe they'll send separate?? idk??

The adcoms will look at whatever your school supplied with the midyear report. We require at the minimum 1st semester grades, but if your midyear transcript reports more we will evaluate everything.

Cheers

this might be a stupid question but do ED admit need to submit mid-year report too?

yep, everyones gotta send in midyear reports.

Yes, Early Decision applicants (admitted and deferred) are required to send Mid-Year reports. In addition, final transcripts will be required and reviewed.

for RD, when will Johns Hopkins send out email/letter to inform that your application is complete?

Postcards confirmations are sent out every couple of weeks when the Operations team has processed a significant amount of applications. There is a huge amount of RD applications to process so it takes some time for the application materials to be sorted and the postcards to be sent.

As has been written numerous times on CC and the Hopkins Insider blog (http://hopkins.typepad.com/) and the Hopkins message boards (http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/jhuboard/) you need to have a bit of patience to give time for all the applications to be processed. You will be contacted if anything is missing!
