Hi,
In my school, mid-year reports are "taken care of" by our counselors. They specifically tell us not to bother them with it, and that they will send mid-year reports to all schools we have applied to. Yet, they send out their own special forms instead of the the forms a specific college may use. I know the schools on the common app seem to be okay with it, however, does MIT take mid-year reports that are not done with their form?

omg, same here!! Somebody please answer this question too!

As long as the report contains all the information MIT asks for on its mid-year report, I'm sure they will be fine with the school substituting its own form.

Mid Year Grade Report - NOT PROCESSED

When I log in MIT status, it still shows my MidYear Grade report as Not Process. but I sent it 2 weeks ago.

Anyone else getting this message?

I get that message too, and my school sent the report January 30th. Does anyone know the Admissions Office phone number? I can't seem to find it on the Admissions website.

It might be another thing happening because of the "demographic buldge" we are in now. Our group is the largest every group of h.s. students applying to college.

What if the counselor sends in the CommonApp Midyear Report instead of the MIT one? I'm pretty sure it still has all the required info.

Is that okay? I didn't know about that

For D, midyear grades were not available until a week and a half ago. I think that the midyear reports were just sent out last week. Is that still going to be OK? or should D have the GC fax a duplicate copy of the report when school opens Feb 27?

A lot of schools will not fill out school specific forms or the common app form, and use their own form instead. Universities know that every school does things their own way. It has not hurt any of my applications.

Bump. I want to know the answer to smoda's question. Mine were mailed out today--is this okay?

My Guidance Counselor claims the department sent it out but it is still not processed. I will talk to her tomorrow, but has anyone's box been checked?

mine was sent around a month ago. Still no checked box for me.

Mine were sent over 2 weeks ago, still no checkbox.

same here, sent out a month ago, but no check box- perhaps MIT need time to process the large amount of apps that come in.

I would not worry about reports sent out late -- MIT is very used to dealing with different high schools all over the country and their different grade-reporting schedules.

I suspect the mid-year reports are used as a check that students are maintaining appropriate grade levels. Perhaps they are not even perused until after selection.

what would be an "appropriate grade level"?

What ever you maintained in the past to get in.

same here in regards to midyear reports, additionally it still hasn't processed my sat subject tests.
