Okay so I haven't done very well so far in high school in terms of grades. I just started my 2nd semester of my sophomore year, and my cumulative gpa is a 2.8. Obviously that is not going to get me very far with the colleges. So far this semester I have straight As because I really got my stuff together.
However, I am wondering if by going to middle college, it would make me stand out and put me in favor when I have to apply for a college. I know I still have to be accepted into middle college first, I'm just wondering if I should spend that time and effort trying to get into it. Will it help me at all interns of colleges since I don't have my gpa in my favor?
I do have stellar extracurriculars by the way (music clubs, sports), but to get to where I want to go, I know it won't cut it. What do you guys suggest I do? Try it or not? If not/ in addition, what can I do at this point to make myself a better candidate for college? Do I still even have hope for a good uc or an elite school in general (private or not)
Also I am taking chemistry honors, Spanish 3, math analysis, and world core this year, if it matters. Thank you!

There is time to improve your GPA since you have 3 more semesters before applying.

What is middle college?

Middle college is a program in which you fulfill your high school courses at your local community college in a college environment with other college students. You can also take college courses if you want and are eligible.

Do you get dual credit - credit for high school and college?
