what is the layout? thank you

My friend is in a quad as well and she’s been talking to previous students to find out more about it. From my understanding, you basically get two rooms. But people recommended that you all sleep in one room and use the other as your own personal living room, but I think (even though I am not sure), you can make two double rooms. However, you might have bunk beds, so that might not even be an option. A lot of people that my friend talked to though said that a quad was great and that they really enjoyed it. But your best bet is to call the housing office and ask about bunks, etc. Good luck! :)

Your dorm probably has a facebook group where you can find a lot of info. Go into the UC Irvine Class of 2013 and then look for you residence hall thread.

We had a quad in my hall last year. I was in a triple, but I’ll tell you that I would have gladly traded for the quad! Our triple room was actually a double transformed into a triple. The quad was composed of two rooms that were connected to each other (with a sliding door between them I believe…I don’t remember). The space for each room is amazing; it’s very big. Someone mentioned above that you might want to have one as a sleeping room and the other as a living room…the quad in my hall didn’t do that (they were more like doubles) but it sounds like a terrific idea! Then if you needed to go to sleep at least you wouldn’t have to worry about turning off the lights and stuff. The bunk beds in Middle Earth are detachable, I believe because you can take two single beds and stack them on top of each other to make bunk beds. You can request for the office to detach or stack the beds for you.

Don’t be put off by the three other roommates! You’ll have plenty of space :)

thank you i appreciate your help, especially about the office

you are incredibly lucky!!!

The quad in ME is a converted study room. its HUGE. Its definitley better then the triple. There’s a smaller inner room with two bunk beds and your cabinets. The outer room is a study room for your desk!
