How much (if it all) will this help me?

edit: Some schools do not even have a space to fill in so I just select other on those.

I don’t know…what are you considered? I thought MEs were considered European. Please correct me if I’m wrong…

Sorry, I meant as in Middle Eastern nationality, I live and always have lived in the US

Yes, I know what you meant. What are you considered?

it depends on the country; some are considered asian, others african. none are considered european, though.

sorry, i forgot to answer the question. it will probably help at least a small amount, because the ratio of middle easterners to other minorities in america is small.

All my cousins filled in Middle Eastern or Arabic American on their college applications so I was planning to do the same.

Ok, I was leaning more towards African, but didn’t think they were.

Yeah, if they give you a space to write something, do it.

yeah, it’s a little confusing… it’s usually just easier to put “other”.

i’m middle eastern too, and i’ve been trying to figure out what to put on my apps since my first AP test.

You wouldn’t be considered a minority where I work! Steer clear of southeastern Michigan publics if you want an edge for being middle Eastern/Arabic American.

Arabs are considered white/Caucasian as far as racial classifications go, so it won’t give you a “minority” boost if that’s what you’re asking.
