Okay...so apparently I've ignored the fact that I have a middle name. On my birth cirtificate and my passport, I have a middle name. But on my school transcript, my SAT score report, my ACT score report, my AP score report, and my transcript from Johns Hopkins (I took courses over the summer), my middle name isn't there. What do I do when I am applying? On my application, should I put my middle name down? I have my social security number down on all of my documents, so they shouldn't get confused...should they? I'm worried they will get confused.

It is quite important when applying to Johns Hopkins University that you use your legal name (first and last name) on all documents. Even if you prefer to be called by another name or nickname, be sure to use your legal name of all forms, letters, and e-mail correspondence so we can identify all of your application materials. Students need to use only one consistent full name in the application process, or there is a chance all application materials will not be processed correctly. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure all application materials are submitted using a consistent legal name.

Simply put, you need to use one consistent name on all of your application materials. Middle name is not required.

My first name, last name, and social security number are all consistent, but not all my material may have my middle name. Is that okay?

It sounds to me like AdmissionsDaniel is saying that you should omit your middle name on your JHU application so that your application is consistent with your transcripts and test score reports.

I have already answered your question. We need a consistent first and last name. Middle name does not matter!

okay. thanks!
