Reviving this thread to ask if anyone knows how to report middle school spanish when each year in middle school is the equivalent to one semester of high school. 7th and 8th combined counted for 1 year of high school spanish, yet it is counting each middle school year as one year. Going crazy trying to figure out how to report it! TIA!
Can you just enter the 7th and 8th Spanish course as 8th grade and put in a comment stating the course was over 2 years but equivalent to I year Spanish? CSU’s will not ask for a Middle school transcript upon enrolling.
I do not have access to the Cal state apply application so I do not know if there is a comment section.
If not, just enter the course in 8th for the year equivalent course.
I haven’t looked at it in a few years but I don’t remember a comment section. This CSUDH pdf states,
Q. Student took Algebra 1 in 7th grade, how do I report it on CSU Application?
A. Put course as 8th grade course and you can list it in the CSU application.
Per CSU High School Preparation Screen Instructions, if you took Algebra 1 or a foreign
language in the 7th or 8th grade, report your grades as grade level 8.
Thank you, that’s exactly what I ended up doing. The most important thing was getting the correct amount of years, so I just made 8th grade a year equivalent and didn’t report 7th. No comment section was available, but I’m thinking (hoping?) it’s fine.
