Hello, when I was in 8th grade I had some pretty atrocious grades which include a C in Algebra 1. I live in the state of texas and attend HISD, I was wondering if these 8th grade classes that gave me high school credit went into my GPA. I have already asked several admins at my school but they give different answers. As far as my high school academics they are pretty solid.

no
you just don’t have to take algebra 1 in hs o.0

The answer may not be so simple.

FWIW, DD2 took Alg 1 and Geometry in MS. They count in her unit count (will have 7 math units at graduation, 5 taken in HS, 2 in MS). Alg 1 was a 7th grade class taught by the MS math teacher. Geometry was taken in 8th grade through HS with a HS math teacher - she got a HS report card for the 1 class. Geometry counts in her HS GPA.

So, as long as you didn’t get a HS report card for the class, no need to stress.

Hmmm, I go to a very nearby school district and this is how it works for us:
4 Years of math required; if you took algebra I in middle school it counts UNLESS you take a math your senior year, and that class will be used in your GPA instead of the middle school class.
