Question… My son took Algebra and Geometry in middle school. Do we need to enter the exact grades on the CSU application, or is a “P” for pass okay, since it’s not calculated in the GPA? Otherwise, I’ll need to reach out to his middle school since we don’t have a copy of his transcript. Thank you!
I finished my app (did not submit yet) and I put down my actual grade for my middle school classes. I took algebra one in eighth grade, and listed the grade I received.
When both my son’s applied within the last 3 years, they submitted their actual grades from the middle school Algebra and Geometry classes but no transcript was requested.
Thank you! I’ll contact the school and see how quickly they can get back to me. Just in case, it’s good to know that the actual transcript will not be needed.
I believe that the middle school coursework needs to show up on your son’s HS transcript. That is how it works at my son’s HS.
My son’s middle school grades were not posted on their copy of the HS transcripts and they were not asked for their MS transcript, unless their GC included their grades some where on the school report. I am sure every school is different in how they approach the MS grades.
