My boyfriend and I are both going to the University of Minnesota. Since I got into the honors program I think I'm going to dorm in Middlebrook. I was wondering what the advantages are of this. I'm very studious, but also really like to party on the weekends and don't want to miss out on a bunch of fun college experiences because of it. Even more importantly, I'm curious if you can dorm in Middlebrook if you aren't an honors student. My boyfriend didn't get into the honors program but I don't want to have to walk 10 minutes in the freezing cold every time I want to see him (especially at night!)

oh, also, I’m going to be majoring in Political Science. Is middlebrook close to my classes?

Middlebrook is a nice dorm - quieter and newer than others. I am not sure that all students staying in the dorm are in honor programs. The walk to East Bank where most dorms are located is not that bad. You can always stay in the middle walkway of the bridge to stay away from the wind since it has walls acting as a windbreak to keep people dry during rain and snow storms.

yeah, dont live there if you want a social life. its far away from everywhere else and there are really no advantages. Plenty of people do fine in honors over in the superblock.
