Middlebury Acceptance Rate

I was wondering if any of you know any stats about the Class of 2014. My friend was wondering what the acceptance rate at Middlebury was this year. I don't think Middlebury has published any articles or stats yet after April 1.

It was 17.5 percent before they went to the waitlist, and we know that they’ve admitted dozens from the WL. So I’d imagine it’ll be closer to 18 or 19 percent.

[The Middlebury Campus Blog Archive Admissions rates dip to 17.5 percent](http://middleburycampus.com/2010/04/07/admissions-rates-dip-to-17-5-percent/)

Why is it “dip” down? In US World News Report it says last year’s acceptance rate was 16.8%.

This is why you should never pay too much attention to USN&WR. With classes as small as Middlebury’s, if they accepted something like 30 more students (out of the thousands that applied) it could explain the small change in acceptance rate. Don’t be hung up on that. This class was considered the most selective ever at Middlebury.

I believe U.S. News reports the acceptance rate for September matriculants only. The 17.5% includes Sept. matriculants and Febs.
