Middlebury: chance me

I’m a 17 year old girl who goes to a public school in New Jersey. My GPA weighted is a 4.64 and unweighted a 4.0. I got a 2200 superscore on the old SAT (750 math, 710 reading, 740 grammar) and 680 on english SAT 2 and 610 on math 2 SAT 2. I did not study for either of these SAT 2’s so my scores do not necessarily reflect my normal grades. I’ve taken 4 AP’s so far (AP Statistics sophomore year, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, and AP English Language and Composition) and got a 4,5,3,and 5 (in that order). This year, for my senior year, I am taking AP biology, AP Literature, AP Calculus BC and AP French.

I played soccer freshman and sophomore year and softball every year of high school. I also have played the piano for 11 years. I’ve been involved in a lot of community service projects like Relay for Life (5 years) and tutoring around town, to name a few. I’m the President of the French Honors Society and I’m in the french club as well as am in 5 honors societies (math, science, french, escriptus or english, and national). In addition, I do Poetry Out Loud every year.

I am undecided. I have so many interests and am having difficulty picking one major or concentration. However, I am passionate about education. I won an award for the state under the New Jersey Future Educators Association.

Last thing to say is that I do not have a steady job. I babysit for 7 families or so (regularly) and tutor and am a camp counselor. But other than that I do not work.

So yeah, that’s me. Weird to list that all anywhere other than a resume or college app but thanks for those taking the time to read, I really appreciate it!

With, the acceptance rate at like 17 percent it obviously is a reach for everyone. Your SAT and GPA are right where they need to be to make your application competitive. What is missing is a Hook. Will you be a recruited softball player? If so, that will help out greatly. Without a hook it is definitely a crap shoot. If it is your top school then apply ED 1 and cross your fingers. Look at the past threads from last year with regards to who got in and who did not in both RD and ED. They will shed some light with regards to where you stand
good luck
