I randomly saw this thread - I'm not even applying to Middlebury.

However you have to understand that CCers here (at least, not too many of them - even the int'l ones) can't really interpret international stats. Usually a school (I know Tufts does) has a few admissions officers that specialize in international students, and know specific international schools. Therefore if you know someone from your school in India that came to Midd for school, you should ask them for their stats. Midd will most likely compare you up against that person (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

However, I will say that for an int'l (actually for anyone), your SAT scores are very high. Those are in incredibly good shape. Usually int'l students have a problem with CR, but your CR score is wonderful.

well i am probably the first person (ever) to apply to Midd from my school. in fact, i'm in the second batch to graduate and the first batch hasn't even recieved news from colleges (those will come in may). so far in the graduating batch of 80+, among my seniors, 2 have EA acceptances at stanford, 5 have cambridge acceptances and we have an MIT acceptance.

Well, I am also an international applicant, though I haven't applied to Midd. Your stats are impressive, but your freshman and sophomore years' GPA is probably going to hurt you. I am someone like you. I have great A' level results and junior and senior year grades, but above average O' Level results. And my O' Level results haunt me all the time. (I am not going to get full scholarship at the premier private university at my country because of that, even though my A' Level results are much better than their requirement.) But your SAT scores and APs, perhaps, will do well to lift you up.

However, with all said, I believe in your case not requiring financial aid is a "blessing" in this financial downturn. Midd has specifically said that it's going to cut down on its international student financial aid (new students), and it expects that fewer international students will enroll in the class of 2013. So, I guess, you- with excellent stats and money to fund four years of education- seem the right kinda person for Middlebury.

dont worry your in, your stats are well above average for middlebury
