The end of the letter says that they will be expecting my mid-year report and end-of-year report. So does that mean that if my grade drops, they will retract the offer? The letter also says that I'm expected to have at least the same grade.
It seems that for my financial aid package, they give me an aid for the first year but I have to apply for the last three years again. Is this also the case for you guys as well? I am an international student so might be different,
Congratulations! The language regarding your grades is pretty standard in most offer letters - they don’t want students to lose steam/relax too much and have a big drop in grades. Just do your best to continue to do well! “This offer of admission is also provisional until we receive your end-of-year transcript; it is based on our expectation that you will maintain at least the same impressive level of performance for the remainder of your senior year that you have in the past.”
Regarding financial aid, I would contact the school and ask the question of can you assume that if your financial situation remains the same can you assume the same level of support? Sometimes a family’s contribution ability goes up or down based on jobs, health, other reasons, so I think they ask students to apply each year to ensure there has been no change in financial situation.
Thanks a lot. The quote you posted is exactly the same as what I got, and I do think it actually makes sense to apply every year. Congrats to your daughter!!!
