Middlebury Deferral

<p>Unfortunately,a lot of kids like me were deferred by Middlebury College a couple of days ago and I think the deferral bothers me more than a rejection letter does! I'm not very sure if I should apply ED2 instead of waiting for my last decision of Midd in the Spring. If I got accepted in ED2,I wouldn't have the chance to wait for midd's final decision. But if I should give up the chance and wait for my final decision, it will be killing me when I am waitlisted or rejected in RD!
Looks like a dilemma I'm in! So I'm opening the thread to ask if anyone here knows the admission rate for student who are deferred in ED by Midd and accepted in RD? I heard that deferred applicants are mostly likely to be waitlisted in RD, it that true?
Or if possible, can anybody tell me what I should do to enhance my candidacy in RD? I intend to write my "why essay" and send it to Midd. Any more ways?
Thank you very much guys! We are still hoping but I think sometimes we should face the fact whether or not we have any chance of accpetance in RD :(</p>

<p>Thank you Toptop!Looks like I do have to prepare my ED2 and RD while still waiting for Middlebury. 10~20% of deferred applicants are accepted in RD :(, not so good…</p>

<p>but are you ready to give up on Midd and apply ED2 somewhere else? I’m not, I still really want to go to Midd so im holding out until the spring (obviously im applying to other school RD, im not that dumb haha)
i think im going to send an email/letter to my regional representative expressing my continued interest in midd, that its still my number 1, if theres anything i can do, etc. ive already sent an additional letter of rec from an administrator at my school (actually he kind of just sent it when he heard haha, he’s the AD, his daughter played lacrosse at midd and loved it so he loves when any of his students want to go)
as i get any more awards or honors, i will update my resume and send that back in</p>

<p>lets hope the waiting will pay off!!</p>
