Middlebury EDII 2025

Only two more days to go. I’m really worried about this one since there are not many spots left for EDII applicants.

According to this article, there are only 363 spots left for both RD and EDII and those are over 11,000 applicants! If they accept about 500 students, that’s gonna be an insane acceptance rate of 4.5%.
I hope I’ll get deferred at the very least.

they will accept more than 500 students for 363 spots. I don’t know Middlebury’s yield but I think in the regular round it is lowish for most schools. agree this year is stressful though!

Middlebury’s yield last year was 40%. So if we take into account that yield is going to decrease significantly this year, let’s say by about 10%, they should accept around 1210 students. So yeah, I think they will definitely accept more than 500 students for 363 spots. Still that’s gonna be at best around an 11% acceptance rate for RD and EDII combined.
I’m not a statistician by any means so please feel free to tell me if there’s something else I’m missing.

Middleubury’s class of 2024 yield was 34%, likely affected by covid. Class of 2023 yield was 41%. News in Brief: Middlebury expects 750 in the class of 2024 and 2024.5 - The Middlebury Campus

I don’t know what will happen this year, but if you split the difference between the last 2 years (I would not expect the yield to be lower than last year) and assume a 37% yield, they should accept another 981 applicants between ED2 and RD. If you keep the yield the same as last year at 34%, then there would be 1,067 projected acceptances in ED2/RD.
