i am considering Midd as one of my ED schools but I have some concerns

Firstly, I dont drink - and i feel that a place like Midd which has a very prominent greek life might not be very suitable for me. Are there many students who dont drink? Are there substance-free dorms?

I also dont really "party" as in drinking and partying all night. But i do like to hang out with my friends, go out for movies, go for some theater peformance, participate in activities happening in school and travelling.

Can i find other people like me at Midd ?

I also wanted to know the acceptance rate of Midd grads to medical school.

Actually, Middlebury doesn't have the Greek system. We have what we call "social houses" which are co-ed houses whose membership is higher than the houses can actually house. These houses are on the fringes of campus and supply some, not all, of the social atmosphere on campus. That being said, partying is certainly not the only thing that goes on during the weekends. I'm not a partyer/drinker myself, and I'm always busy. There are three free showing of recently released movies in Dana Autidorium on Fridays. There are always alcohol-free dance parties in McCullough. Once the term gets underway, there are two or three plays or musicals every week, and there are always concerts of groups we bring in or of student bands around campus. Nobody is ever pressured to drink; it's perfectly reasonable to go to a party and not drink at all. We do have a sub-free social house, called Xenia, of which I am a member, and all dorms have sub-free housing options. So yes...there are many, many people like you at Midd. In fact, I'm willing to bet that you'll be so busy and having so much fun here, you won't know the parties are going on.

I don't drink at all and feel no concern (I'm an entering freshman starting in a couple weeks) or nervousness for the coming year socially. Already, many non-drinkers have bonded through facebook.
