Middlebury in your words: How would you describe it to a prospective student?

I've just recently started to look into Middlebury. I'm very internationally geared and want to study international relations and languages, especially languages. So obviously, Midd is something to look into. My main concerns are it's size and location. It's smaller than most schools I'm looking at and even though the location is beautiful, it's frankly in the middle of nowhere. Thoughts on that issue? And also, what are the people like, what is the overall vibe, etc? I'd love any feedback.

Salpert--

I'm starting tomorrow, I'll let you know in a couple days/weeks. I'll try to filter out the novelty of being a new college student in my evaluation too, but that might be hard.

anyone else?

I can tell you that for me, Middlebury doesn't feel like the middle of nowhere. There's always something to do, people to hang out with. And being in the middle of nowhere isn't necessarily bad--the views as you're walking back from dinner, the view from your window, the views everywhere you walk--it's all amazing.

People are really friendly here--we're all pretty laid-back.
