Middlebury or Ivy League?

Anyone give up an Ivy admission offer to go to Midd? If you did, why? Was it a tough choice? Have you heard of others in this situation? What were their considerations and experiences?

my brothet gavge up yale for mit if that epls i on the other hand gave up cornel for Johns hopkins --premed

sorry for all the typos i wAs rushing

thanks. any other thoughts?

inAll honosty its about fit its about what you want to do , its about the people anf if you fel comfetable around them , i would go to either , midd is awsome and ivies are ives , thusly look for fit , and don't worry , there comes a point when both schools are so selective and so good ,like this time , in whence you cAn't go wrong .

i'm turning down cornell, know two people turning down amherst

thanks for all the discussion, anyone else want to join in?

It depends on what ivy league school you are referring to. If it is Yale - go to yale. If it is anything else, go to Midd. You will never regret the enriched experience you awill have at a small liberal arts college where people are passionate about the campus and what is happening there. Ivies are overrated, and I mean that - not just in spite.

kdanieli~ do you ski?

My two friends just picked Middlebury over Yale...they wanted to play sports in college, and probably couldn't compete at the D1 level.

happycollegemom, yes I ski.

GateNY09...so why do you single out Yale? (Yale decisions for transfers aren't out yet...nor are Dartmouth and Cornell.)
