Does anybody know when will Midd release the RD results?
Yes. They sent an email last week with the below statement included (among other things):
“Your application decision will be available online March 19, 2016 after 8:00 AM”.
thank you!
If I didn’t get this email does it mean something’s up? Like does everyone get this and is my email potentially blocking mail from certain colleges?
@belle12 try checking your spam
@sylvania123 ugh nothing!
@belle12 I am assuming you received the email with login credentials to the Application Portal, right? As long as you have that, you don’t really need anything else. If you have green check marks for everything in the portal, you should be good to go and just log in after the specified time that decisions come out. If you are still anxious, send an email to the Admissions office. Good Luck.
Hmmm let me check because I didn’t get the email. I got an interview with a really nice woman who said that they only interview competitive students (like most schools) and I had an additional alumni recommendation from a relative. I’m really excited and hope I get in!
@Islandmg idk about interviews only being given to competitive candidates. Many top schools these days (Duke and UChicago come to mind) use their alumni network to accommodate as many people as possible with interviews regardless of stats. The interviews are often used as promotional tools to get students interested in the school.
My middlebury interview felt very much like Duke in the sense it was more about the interviewer trying to get me interested in the college than it was me trying to impress the interviewer.
@secretlyAdog I got the same sense. My Middlebury interview was much more casual and informative than the others.
Did anyone get an email from middlebury today with subject headline “Big search isn’t just for universities”?
@Learner12388 Yes, I received one yesterday.
@juniperann
It’s just an ad, right?
@Learner12388 Yes, unfortunately haha. I really hope these next two weeks go by quickly!
Me too. I really hope so. We’ll know our results in exactly 2 weeks.
Anyone else curious about the email from yesterday?
Hmmm, interesting. I got that ad email to and finally got my portal email. My interview really was not informative at all. She asked me questions basically the whole time and wrote down replies. Maybe we had different types? It was casual but she was definitely reading questions off of a paper and asking me about my extra curricular activities, times I have been challenged in school, what I want to study and so fourth,
Middlebury has an extensive alumni network and tries to use that network to interview as many applicants as possible. However, the interview is not intended as a promotional tool. It’s designed to allow both the school and the applicant to learn about each other. After the interview, the interviewer answers a lot of questions that the admissions office sees when consider the application. Any difference in the type of interview you had is purely based on the differences between the interviewers themselves.
I had a great interview with an alumni, she was really chill and it just felt like a conversation most of the time. Can’t wait till decisions come out! Good luck to everyone!
My Midd interview was by far the most relaxing and the one I was most confident about. Although she did asked me what I would assume was a list of “set questions”, she didn’t write my answers down (at least not in my presence), which allowed the convo to just flow naturally and I felt I gave off the most accurate representation of myself! Hurray for Middlebury Interviewers!
