Really excited to go to Midd! I thought I was going to be rejected for sure.

Although some consider Williams “better”, I find Midd suits my needs much more and would still choose Midd over Williams.

@13tt44… not sure what you mean by “the acceptance rate is higher” for Febs. I’ve never seen that statistically broken out, but perhaps you are privy to data that you can share. Are you sure you aren’t talking about EDII? I spent a long time discussing Feb admissions with an Adcom and the choice to admit someone as a Feb or a Reg, seemed to come down to a “type.” Only certain candidates make good Febs. From my observations and comments from Adcoms, they almost always turn out to be more successful students. By virtue of the fact that very few, if any, recruited athletes come in as Febs, you have eliminated a whole group of students that because of their hooks may not be quite up to the normal academic standards of Middlebury (Not saying that is true about all recruited athletes.) Being admitted as a Feb is an honor in my opinion and I’ve yet to meet a Feb, I didn’t like! Congrats on your admission and even more kudos to you for making it in as a Feb!!!

^^ @cassiebreeze I get a feeling you would make a truly happy Middkidd. The classmates of my DS that I have met have turned down Harvard, Dartmouth etc., for the opportunity to attend Middlebury. I think it takes a very secure person to be able to make those kinds of decisions. One who understands themselves, what makes them happy, what they want out of a school, who they want for their classmates etc. Congrats congrats, congrats!!!

Good point KD!

Accepted  International student from China. Hook was probably because I speak/am learning 6 languages  I also have to choose between Williams, Midd, Pomona and Brown… and hopefully, more coming this week – any suggestions/advice?

Waitlisted

Intended Major: Economics
GPA: 3.83 UW
SAT: 2270 superscored (740CR, 740M, 790W)
Interview: was supposed to have one but interviewer cancelled and we never got around to rescheduling.

Honestly applied after a teacher and a friend both raved about Middlebury, and because the supplement was rather easy. It hurt after a while, but after acceptances to Williams and Dartmouth, it’s fine with me. Best of luck to those on the waitlist/rejectees going elsewhere! And congrats to all acceptees!
