<p>Once again there doesn’t seem to be any pattern among those accepted and those rejected. It really is a crap shoot at this level. </p>

<p>ECs: Boy Scouts: Eagle Scout, so many leadership positions and high adventure trips as well as awards and other things like keynote speaker at a big council dinner. For my project I built two large dugots, almost 500 hours in that alone. Swimming: For high school and YMCA and USA. Practice year round, times good but not recruitable, HS captain, 4 yr letter winner. Mock trial, 11th and 12th: Best advocate award, this year we were region finalists. Envirothon: ecology competition. Order of the Arrow: Brotherhood, exec board, now treasurer, used to be awards chair. Did a veterans day fundraiser last fall, rotary student of the month, bunch of other small things
Teacher rec’s: very nice, extremely personal
Essays: one about how eagle scout is meaningless unless the journey was worthwhile. Other about my background from the woods and everything very unique others loved it

<p>I’m filling this out for all those kids like me who freaked themselves out a bit over all of this and so they have one more kid to use as a window into college admissions. I really wanted Middlebury, I was also waitlisted at Bowdoin and Bates. This is not my best weekend. Congrats to all those who were accepted.</p>

Senior Course Load: TOK, English A HL, Spanish B HL, French B HL, Biology HL/SL, History of the Americas HL, Math Studies SL (I took 5 HL classes for 1.5 years but just switched to SL bio → 5 HL’s isn’t allowed)
Major Awards: a couple school awards; I took the DELE Exam (an international Spanish test) but idk if that dioloma counts as a “major” award</p>

Why you think you were accepted/rejected: continued interest (I wrote them a really long letter when I got deferred back in December that explained why I wanted to go there). For anyone out there in a similar situation, perseverance counts :)</p>
<p>Accepted as a Feb. Not something I was expecting at all but their aid package was spectacular and I love Midd so I might end up there.</p>
