Middlesex Chances?

I'm applying for next year as an incoming Freshman. The moment I stepped onto the Middlesex campus, I cancelled my other tours for Loomis, Deerfield, Hotchkiss and Choate. I love it there, I'm willing to do absolutely ANYTHING to get in.

My grades average at 84% with a 91% in Spanish, 88% in US History, 86% in Pre-Algebra (I'm not one for math), 82% in English (all from one test I bombed), and a 79% in Science.

I play Volleyball, Crew Training, and Lacrosse. I am part of the Community Service Club. I play the guitar and I am learning Modern Greek outside of school.

I have someone on the Board of Trustee's at MX writing me a letter of recommendation, as well as two of my English teachers (one current, the other 6th grade). My dad is also writing me a letter

I suck at testing. I do. I took the SSAT getting a 1958, which sucks, and it really brought me down. I scheduled to take it again in February and am currently looking for a tutor.

What are my chances? I love this school so much, I will be absolutely heart-broken if I don't get in.

The feb ssat is too late

I agree with GMTplus7. The february SSAT is too late. On the SSAT what is your weak point? I had a tutor for only two sessions and I had gotten a 97th percentile (2310) in the SSAT. Maybe I can help you find a tutor. Also, at what level do you play your sports and other co-curriculars? At this stage, I want to tell you to not be too sad for getting a bad score on the SSAT. I have a person in my family who had gotten a 65th percentile for the SSAT and still get accepted into one of the schools you mentioned above. By the way, the SSAT is just one part of what the admissions officers look at. After that, your grades, sporting achievements and other community service activities count. By the way, I am also applying to Middlesex. How was your interview? Remember, there are other schools out there and if you really want to get into MX, you could perhaps apply for sophomore and go into another school for freshman. I hope this helps…GOOD LUCK!!!

Actually, Middlesex accepts the early Feb SSAT.

However, don’t expect a month of prepping to make much difference in your score.

My interview went really well, I emailed the guy afterwards and basically thanked him for how considerate and easy it was. I know I’m pretty good as far as everything else goes, but I really blew my SSAT’s. I checked the MX website and I think what it said was that I will be wait listed because the Feb scores dont come in so I just changed the date to the 4th of Jan.

ccnaf14, don’t loose your sleep over it. You have decided to write it again, so do it.
I found this post on FB page from Exeter and would like to share it with you: https://www./exeteraskanexonian/posts/452446678138866
You sound like a good candidate, so just focus on what you have to do and try everything what you can to achieve your goal.

Try writing a thank you note on paper.
ask a lot of questions
make sure they know you’re really interested in MX
