Middlesex Thread

For all Middlesex applicants!!

Discuss things you like about Middlesex. What makes it unique. List some stats, and grade you are applying for.

middlesex, do you go to middlesex (i assume so)?

Actually I do not go to middlesex currently. I wish I did though. I am applying this year, how about you?

I’m applying for 9th grade.

actually, middlesex is more like my backup school. my main goal is exeter, but
middlesex, i heard is wicked awesome. Not too big of a school, not too small, good academics, good chances, in the top 10 best boarding schools in the country, and it’s acceptance rates aren’t bad (25%, compared to Exeter-11%)

I’m applying there

cc, I believe Exeter’s acceptance rate last year was 17%.

17% was apparently calculated based on the number of preliminary applications not the completed ones, which would put its acceptance rate around 20%. There was an old thread about this.

ah, ok. If that’s true, Exeter should edit their boardingschoolreview.com entry.

Exeter recently updated this stat from the former 21% to the new (and potentially misleading?) 17%.

and middlesex received more applications last year, so it is most likely lower than 25%.

oh, i’m a current freshman (not one of those weierd exeter “preps”). I wish more people considered middlesex their first choice, it’s really a great school, though it may not have the same prestige as is associated with exeter.

good luck to all middlesex applicants! hope all ccers get in!
