<p>CENTER VALLEY, Pa. The Navy mens track & field team has been selected to repeat its second-place finish at the Patriot League Championship in this years league preseason poll, it was announced on Wednesday. </p>
<p>The Midshipmen have placed among the top-two schools during the last-three years, as they won the championship in 2004 and 05 before last seasons second-place finish. </p>
<p>Defending indoor league champion Army, also this years Patriot League Championship host, has been picked to claim the title for the second-straight year, as the Black Knights claimed 13 first-place votes and 97 points. The Midshipmen received the three other first-place ballots and 86 points for second place.</p>
<p>Lehigh ranks third with its 63 points, followed by Americans 60 points, Lafayettes 53 points, Bucknells 49 points, Colgates 25 points and Holy Cross 15 points.</p>
<p>Navy junior Paul Harris (Woodbury, Minn.) looks to build off a sophomore campaign in which he was named the Patriot League Track Athlete of the Meet. He smashed the previous league championship record in the 500-meter run with a 1:04.15 clocking last season. Harris also served on the league-champion 4x400-meter relay and competed on the second-team all-league 4x800-meter relay.</p>
<p>The Mids also return 2006 First-Team All-Patriot League members Cameron Lindsay (4x400-meter relay), Dante Marshall (triple jump), Craig Meekins (4x400-meter relay), William Ricks (4x400-meter relay, 400-meter dash) and Stephen White (high jump).</p>
<p>The Midshipmen will begin their 2006-07 season when they host the Navy Invitational on Friday in Halsey Field House at 5 p.m. The Mids will face American, Coppin State, Delaware State, Georgetown, James Madison, Mount St. Marys and VCU in the non-team scoring meet.</p>
