I'm an international student from Canada. My midterm (mid semester) marks in grade 12 have significantly dropped from grade 11 marks. In grade 11 I had a 96.5 average with lowest mark being 93. Currently I have an average of probably 91/92, lowest mark being 87 which is horrid.

I know grades aren't everything but I really want to know if Upenn looks at midterm marks for ED because I am so stressed and emotional right now.

My friends don't understand because they are not applying to American universities. I am seriously considering dropping my course with the 87 average (studies in literature, elective). Honestly I have been spending a lot of time on uni applications and scholarships and it has taken a toll on my marks. My chemistry mark dropped from 97 to 92 in a matter of one unit because of applications and SAT prep.

Not to mention I am Chinese and an only child. My parents are being very supportive but I don't want to disappoint them because one main reason why we moved to North America was for me to get a great education.

Sorry I kind of strayed from the main topic.

Overall, I want to know if UPenn looks at midterm marks for ED. Any other advice is also appreciated. Truthfully, I feel kind of lost right now. Sure, I can get into Canadian universities, but a 95% avg would grant me much better entrance scholarships than any lower overall gr.12 avg and it's looking pretty difficult to achieve from where I am at right now.

Thanks in advance.
