I have a bit of a question, though it may sound dim. I submitted my midterm report in late March, which was technically midterm season at my school, though one class waited until well after midterm week to hold its midterm exam. Some schools required the report before others, so I sent it out as it was. My report is a sea of A's and an A+, but the one class for which I hadn't had midterm held an A-. The professor's comment on the form was that the midterm was being held on [date]. I just got it back, and my grade is now safely in the A/A+ range. Should I send an update?

I have a 4.0 overall, and the class in question is a graduate section that I'm taking as a sophomore. Do you reckon the committee/s might be a bit forgiving of the A-? One of the other A's is now an A+, so two classes look a touch different. I imagine that it's a small issue, and that the committees realize that grades change, but wonder if there's an outside chance that an update would make a difference.

Reading this over, I realize it all sounds a bit frivolous and panicky, but as the decision dates draw near, I can't help but wonder what tips candidates in one direction or the next.

In any event, the question: to update or not to update?
