Well I just took my first batch of midterms in my high school career (i'm a freshman) this past week and now that they're coming back, they're not pretty: especially a c+ in honors biology. Would teachers look at the third and fourth marking period grades and the final exams so I can move up to AP Biology next year? please help, because I really want to do well in this class.

Honestly, I would not suggest taking AP Bio as a sophomore. But if you’re really dead set on it, you could probably take it despite not having a good grade in Honors Bio. If your school is anything like my school, signed approval from your parents can get you into any advanced course, no matter what your teacher recommends. If in fact your teacher does play a significant role in what course you take next year, definitely try to do better before you sign up for courses in the Spring. I don’t think the midterm itself wil hurt you; rather, your effort in the class is what’ll convince a teacher to move you to AP Bio next year.

Thanks for the advice but can i ask why you wouldn’t suggest taking AP Bio as a sophomore?
